Bethany Applegate

Director of Student Engagement

Personal Summary

Bethany Applegate is the Director of Student Engagement at the Davidson Honors College. She advises prospective and enrolled students and contributes to the College’s outreach and recruiting efforts.  Bethany is passionate about helping students achieve an educational experience that is personalized, meaningful, and enriching.  She aims to connect students with people, places and experiences that provide opportunities to take full advantage of their education and time at the University of Montana.  Prior to joining the University of Montana, Bethany worked in higher education from the vantage point of the non-profit sector, primarily in experiential and field-based education.  Along the way, she relished the opportunity to teach in both a field setting and on the University of Montana campus as a faculty affiliate of the Environmental Studies Department and the Davidson Honors College.  She received her bachelor’s degree from Colorado College in American History and holds a master’s degree from the University of Montana in Environmental Studies and Education.  When she’s not meeting with students or dreaming up ways to entice them to the University of Montana, Bethany can be found enjoying all of the natural wonders Montana has to offer with her sons and husband.
